The White Album
While this may seem very cliche', I feel this record must be in this blog somewhere. If you skip the opening track (Back in the USSR) which is also on my top ten worst Beatles songs list along with Yellow Submarine, you have got a near flawless album cover to cover. From greats like: Glass Onion, to downright weird songs Honey Pie and Rocky Raccoon. My personal favorites would have to lie within: Yer Blues, Dear Prudence, Happiness is a Warm Gun, and above all, While My Guitar Gently Weeps.

The Start
So here I am, entering the blogging world. I wanted an avenue to share some of my favorite records, as well as one of my lasting passions. Luckily in the town I reside in this is not entirely a lost art! I enjoy the whole package that an album created, as well as the tonal qualities that were also included that seem to be lost in the digital world these days.
So for this week, my selection will be Ravi Shankar at the monterey pop festival
While I am no expert in Indian music, I have grown to love this, I believe, very influential musician of the 60's. It definitely will take you to another world, and another place mentally if you only allow it! I hear so much obvious influence and shift in rock and roll with the addition of the sitar in obvious bands like The Beatles, to modern Psych-Rockers The Black Angels. If you want to open your mind to some more culture, I suggest checking this out. I've thoroughly enjoyed it!
